» A brief take on Skillset Magazine

By on June 14, 2020

This is the first issue of this magazine I’ve ever gotten.

Admittedly I got it because I wanted to learn more on Colion Noir, and I did.

At first glance leafing through this mag, it made me think of a partial format of some where between Men’s Health and USA Today.

When USA Today first came out back in the early 80’s, someone called it “…a newspaper for people with short attention spans…”

This has a similar feel to it, a lot of 1-3 paragraph articles with a humorous feel and accompanying images, interspersed with meatier articles. Some pretty unusual ones at that. Men’s Health does it similarly, but reversed; more meat articles and less short articles

At first it was a bit of a turn off. I do like “in-depth” information.

However, what might have been indeed stuff for “ short attention spans” in the 80’s, is now a quickly researchable item with the Internet access we have almost instantaneously at our fingertips in the 2020’s! I feel with this particular format, they can actually give more information, in smaller snippets, than if they published whole articles.

So kudos to Skillset for at least putting the information out there and allowing me to decide if I want to know more or not about a topic.

BTW I have no business or financial interests with either Skillset magazine or Mr. Colion Noir.
