Cool gizmo? You know it!
The aiRCam is basically a HD camera suspended on a zip line. The idea was to have a tool that would give the viewer the feel of a shot filmed from a production helicopter platform…without the huge cost in both money and time that hiring a chopper, crew, camera and film crew as well as the time involved doing so would entail.
They wanted to keep the whole system light weight and portable enough that you could potentially put it in a backpack. It also needs to weather resistant for filming in all types of climate.
A tall order indeed!
Well the whole system is still in R&D so we don’t know exactly what the final product will look like or function like but it is one Hell of an idea! Imagine what you could do for training purposes?! Talk about action shots!! Sweet!
